Procedure To Change Your Router SSID
By changing the wireless router to its default SSID or Service Set Identifier can be helpful in protecting a network from the attackers. Here are few ways to adjust your router SSID.

1. First open the wireless router’s console to change its default SSID. Go through the router’s manual to access the administrator’s area.
2. Open web browser to type your default IP address which can vary on each wireless router. You can see a administrator logon screen that will be displayed.
3. Type the administrator username and password in the dialogue box to see the wireless router. Find the wireless settings area and the existing network name or wireless SSID.
4. Create a different name to keep the hackers from finding your SSID. You can use letters as well as numbers in the network name. Avoiding using your name and also create a name that will be easy to remember.
5. Change SSID at the network name field to the name you have created and save the settings to activate the new settings.
