LCD monitor will be very fragile and it is not been designed to last indefinitely. There are many problems such as blinking, black screen, failing backlight, etc may be a sign of a dying LCD monitor.

1. LCD need about 5-10 seconds for the image to appear when the power button is switched on. The first-generation LCD monitors which are older may need more time to make the backlight warm up. In case the LCD monitor takes to turn on is also an indication that the LCD dying.

2. A flashing or flickering screen may also be a sign of a dying LCD monitor. The flickering will occur when the backlight is failing or due to insufficient power.

3. A blinking or flickering image may occur while changing the screen resolution and sometimes it can be a sign of a dying LCD monitor. A blinking problem can occur due to a monitor burnout and it can also arise from bad drivers.

4. Fuzziness or color saturation is also another sign which can occur due to a bad video card. Connect the monitor to another computer to check the source of this problem. In case the screen is still fuzzy, check the operating system settings and video card driver.
