Perform A Hard Reset In Apple iPod Touch
A hard reset of the Apple iPod Touch will restore the original factory settings which are needed if the device is disabled. Here are few simple steps to perform a hard reset an Apple iPod Touch.

1. First plug your iPod into the computer to recharge the battery if it is drained which can fix a disabled iPod if it is because of a dead battery.
2. Next select OK if your computer prompts Connect to iTunes which may also indicate that the iPod is in recovery mode.
3. Remove the iPod from your computer if it doesn’t prompt Connect to iTunes and ensure that the iPod is charged before trying a hard reset.
4. Press both On/Off/Wake button and Home button on the iPod to see a logo to before releasing the button.
5. Plug the iPod into the computer again will display the iTunes recovery mode message and select OK to complete the reset.
